Located in the heart of the University of Salford's central campus, the Clifford Whitworth Library is a focal point of activity for Salford's students.
Acting as principal contractor, we provided the university with risk assessments, method statements, a programme of works, and site-specific designs for the mechanical and electrical package.
The project entailed the installation of the Garland built up bituminous roof system, designed with tapered insulation to allow rainfall the chance to flow to the internal gutters as the roof had experienced ponding, putting the library at risk.
The client received a full guarantee of up to 20 years and our works were successfully signed off in time for the students return.
